Meet John Reed

John Reed is an American-Australian actor, dancer, singer, choreographer, teacher and Mexican food enthusiast! Born in Houston, Texas, John relocated to Melbourne, Australia in 2004 and studied all facets of dance, singing and acting at the May Downs School of Dancing and Centrestage Performing Arts School. He went on to graduate from the Ballarat Arts Academy in 2015 with a BA in Music Theatre.

While treading the boards in such musicals as A Chorus Line, Fiddler On The Roof, 42nd Street, West Side Story on Sydney Harbour (where he understudied and performed the role of Riff), Funny Girl, Merrily We Roll Along, and Jesus Christ Superstar, John has also donned a doublet performing in over ten Shakespeare plays, including A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Much Ado About Nothing, Romeo and Juliet and King Lear.

He loves performing in period pieces on screen and will eat up Aaron Sorkin dialogue any day of the week!

John has also been teaching since the age of 19 at dance studios, high schools and universities, all sharing his love and passion for the performing arts to the next generation.
